You're thinking about improving your setup. The i5-3570 is a solid choice, but the i5-3570s offers better performance. The $13 i5-3570 on eBay sounds like a good deal, especially with the GPU upgrade and RAM increase you mentioned. The $10 i5-3475s is cheaper but might not give you the same speed boost. Consider the upgrade path that fits your budget and needs.

Save your funds and improve the system by focusing on meaningful changes. Avoid minor adjustments that offer little benefit. Think about a comprehensive approach instead.

Honestly, don't overthink it. The i5 is better, but upgrading from an old system means you can only run simple games. You won't even notice much of a difference. Shipping costs are also a factor—most upgrades cost around $150, which is only half the price of a first-gen Ryzen gaming PC with a Tiyo 1600 or even a Ryzen 2600. Those are far beyond what this machine can handle and would be a better use of your money. My suggestion is to add about $100 more, sell the HP for around $50-60, and buy a used PC instead.

Both the 3570 and 3570s models reach the same speed, likely performing quite similarly. Choose the cheaper option. The 3475 was the first to include Intel's top iGPU, but it still falls short and won't matter if you add a dedicated GPU. An upgrade from i3-2130 to i5-3570 should provide a clear performance increase. It won't be as dramatic as switching platforms, but it's far more costly than $13. Still, if you can extend the life of your current CPU to save for a newer setup, it would offer better value.

I’m looking to upgrade to an i5 processor, specifically the 3770 model. Are you referring to that version? I want the same day shipping, so I’m choosing based on that preference.

It seems like you're questioning the value of spending $10 on something that costs $3475. The focus should be on understanding the purpose behind it.

Review his other updates too—he’s planning to invest $10 here and $20 there. Combine the resources and make real improvements. I understand he’s young or not working, but he’s wasting money on unnecessary things.

Yeah, Chrome can feel slow sometimes, especially when using tools like PyCharm or Atom. I’m hoping to get a better performance—maybe upgrading the RAM to 8 GB would help. My brother has an i5-3470 and he runs much smoother on it compared to this machine.
