As the person who replied before me mentioned, it seems likely they're talking about satellites because your location is mainly covered by them. I'm still unsure why they wouldn't use regular connections instead of a coax cable going straight to my home.

Only for coax cables (the white and black ones), which plug straight into the dish. For Ethernet connections, there will be a separate modem that the ethernet cables link to, and that modem is then linked to the dish (again, through outdoor-rated coax). With this arrangement, running the Ethernet cables outside isn’t necessary. Please reach out to the contractor who installed it directly—they understand the reasoning and can provide honest answers if they’re a trustworthy company.

Use a metal enclosure for the cables and your router. Alternatively, remove the Ethernet wires from inside the house or trim them on the opposite side and mount Ethernet ports. Finally, connect the cable ends to the router or network switch.
