I encounter a bothersome issue with my Windows 10. Occasionally, after closing my browser, the arrangement of my desktop icons becomes disorganized and shifts to the same spots repeatedly. This has occurred multiple times recently, giving the impression that the icons always settle in the same locations. It’s quite bothersome. If you have any suggestions or solutions, please let me know. I’ve also noted some details about my system: I’m using Windows 10 Pro, version 1703 (Criterion Update, not Insider). The setup is a dual monitor with 1x WQHD display, an HD GPU (Nvidia GTX 970), CPU I5 6600K @ 3.5GHz (default), and 16GB RAM installed on a Samsung SSD. This problem hasn’t been constant; it seems to have started in the past weeks, even though I’ve been using this installation for about a year.

No, I haven't adjusted the resolution on either monitor recently.

Maybe executing scripts that alter aspect ratio or resolution. Also, was there an antivirus check recently? Your annoying roommates seem to be messing with you.

I haven’t adjusted the resolution and I believe it’s not a game issue, since I notice some desktop icons appearing on my second screen often. This usually happens because I use the main one for applications. I’m 100% certain it’s not a roommate, as it occurs occasionally while I’m sitting there (actually).

Would you mind sending a screenshot of what the effect looks like? Make sure there's no sensitive information in the image! From what I'm guessing, the icons are spread randomly around the screen with no rhyme or reason? If you right click the desktop and look through the 'view' and 'sort-by' menus, is there anything weird going on with the settings? Perhaps changing some of these setting will yield results.
