I completed all the updates, including the optional ones, but the icon remains invisible. I also restarted the system twice.

Everything is completely broken, don’t waste your time. People who say “just update” are wrong—I’ve tried many fixes but nothing helps.

It seems both your latest laptop model and your older desktop are running the newest version. Your W7 desktop managed to keep up with the updates.
