Wow! HHKB wants to chat here. (Though they seem pretty bad.) Cherry MX switches aren’t great—they’re cheap, plastic, and make a terrible sound. They don’t use metal springs... How many different suppliers are you supposed to find for one kind of keyboard?

HHKB is not worth it! While the Japanese have impressive tech, not all of it lives up to expectations. I’m not sure MX is particularly strong—except maybe I haven’t tested the green switch yet. It seems like they might be using plastic, just like keyboard components. What materials are we really working with? Metal, ceramic, concrete? I’d prefer a single supplier to handle the design, and Leopold came close.

We agree again! There is a huge quality difference between 1980s plastic key caps and 21st century plastic Cherry switches. Metal is just fine.

It's accurate, though I personally prefer plastic. Metal can create issues by introducing conductivity. ...and we're quite far from the main subject. Let me know if you have any IBM-related comments or questions. (We should discuss keyboards via PM)

I strongly dislike Windoz! I finally managed to get past all the warnings about protecting me and starting the download. Torrents are new to me, but it seems straightforward after using Google. They say it will take a week and two days (it missed a day while I was typing), so we’ll find out. Appreciate the details.
