i9-9900k vs i9-9900ks
I purchased the i9-9900K last week and it remains in the packaging. I noticed Intel just announced a release for the i9-9900K today, so I’m thinking about whether to exchange my current model or upgrade to the new one.
It relies on how much the price varies and whether you were already pushing the CPU beyond its limits. I’d recommend keeping the 9900k unless you had specific reasons to consider other options.
Check if the costs match or vary. If they’re identical, proceed; otherwise skip. Just boost to 5GHz and aim for 90% or higher performance. Avoid any extra charges.
It seems the 9900KS is a 5GHz processor and there hasn't been any experience overclocking it to that frequency.
Unless you're after a collector's piece, they're essentially identical, just with varying stock configurations.
The additional expense of the 9900KS doesn't justify the value I see.
