i9-9900k running hot under H150I setup
Good morning everyone, I'm testing a 9900k with an Asus TUF board and Corsair H150i. When it hits 4.8GHz, what should I expect in terms of temperatures? I keep getting thermal throttling, is that normal or does it point to a faulty thermal paste? Thanks for your help!
so im currently Folding@home and im constantly getting to the 90-100 C here is a picture form iCue
it's not clear what you mean by "cooler" – are you referring to a gaming cooler or a liquid cooling system? the high temperature and frequent pump switching suggest heat buildup issues. (you mentioned it’s running at 4.72ghz, which is quite intense.) The pump seems to be cycling on and off, possibly due to instability or insufficient flow. The water temperature looks normal at 44.2°C, but if the pump isn’t moving properly, the issue might be with the mounting or fan resistance. You might want to check the pump’s operation and ensure proper airflow through the radiator.
