Thank you very much! Your description matches exactly what I had in mind—no problem at all.

I found many memory bins listed as B die, so don’t assume a 3600 CL16-16-16 kit is safe just because it wasn’t mentioned. The most reliable B die I currently have is a 3600MHz CL17-18-18 bin, which would likely be a B die if used, though new ones today might differ.

Reviewed a webpage from a nearby PC shop. They mention certain kits as B-die in the description, while others don’t list them in the feedback section where customers say they’re B-die kits.

The non-B die bins sometimes show B die as well, meaning one person getting B die doesn't guarantee others will too. For instance, at 4000MHz CL18-22-22-42, B die can happen occasionally, though it's rare.

Not at all often, never really. The CL18 will run at 18-19-19 at 4000mhz. I haven't seen any other timing configurations for the bdie at CL18. It matches up with 4267 and 4400mhz—CL18 is 19, so 19-19-19, just because it's a bit higher frequency and nothing else. Or they'd have to combine the CL18 4400 with a higher Vdimm.

It might occur when materials are scarce for assembling the kits, though this is rare. A definitive outcome isn't assured for B die; some kits labeled as B die have ratings lower than 4000MHz CL18-22-22. The provided link references a kit with 4000MHz CL19-23-23 and another with 3200MHz CL16-20-20, both not matching the claimed B die type.

Very affordable early versions from 2016? The quality items rarely drop that low. A revision might be reliable, but without confirmation it could be outdated or missing entirely. I believe production halted around 2019, though I shouldn't quote me. Knowing the build date for some kits would be useful.

They ceased making original equipment manufacturer parts for this item, though the actual IC remains in production. I've noticed these kits recently too, but they're hard to locate on eBay within a short search. They're not widely available, and the B die quality isn't consistently high, yet it still performs as expected. My main point is that just because someone received a B die kit doesn't confirm they all are, and you must evaluate the memory module itself. Even a module that was reliably B die in the past (like the 3600MHz CL17-18-18) isn't guaranteed to be so now, so older reviews may not reflect current conditions.

I'm pretty sure the production of bdie has ended, especially for desktop memory. I couldn't find any recent info around 2020 onward. I read it somewhere online, but wasn't sure which site. I'll just trust what I know. I've seen typhoon burner misidentified a few times. You should check the heat spreaders to see the chips—similar to how you'd tell if a video card is from Hyundai or Samsung.

Only the OEM parts remain unmarked as B die. Samsung continues to supply genuine ICs to companies such as G.Skill and Corsair. Removing the heat spreaders doesn't reliably indicate the source either. Many firms like G.Skill, Corsair, Patriot, etc., display Samsung/Hynix/Micron logos instead of the specific IC manufacturer, making it hard to trace the exact part.
