Hello! Let me know if your Z270X-Ultra Gaming-CF board supports the i9 9900K. You're currently using an i5-7600K and are thinking about upgrading to a better CPU, but you don’t want to replace the motherboard.

Choose between Z370 or Z390 for a 9900k; Z270 doesn't support Coffee Lake. Using this board restricts you to a 7700k as the top CPU option.

That chipset isn't compatible with the 9900K. You'll need a different board.

First, your motherboard won't work with the 9900K and it doesn't support it at all. Don't buy a 9900K. It's an outdated platform. For gaming, go for the 10600K for better performance but at a lower budget. If you're okay with older specs, consider Ryzen 5 3600 for less money. You could wait a couple of months to upgrade to a Ryzen 4th gen and Intel 11th gen later.
