Hi everyone, welcome! I’m just starting with PCs, so please give me some time.
I have an i7700k CPU paired with a h100i Corsair CPU cooler.
I’ve optimized the CPU settings and here are my current temperatures:
- 5GHz at 1.35V, 91°C
- 91°C at 70% load, 10-15% load
- 4.8GHz at 1.30V, 87°C
- 65°C when idle
At this stage, I’m considering a thermal upgrade and possibly fitting an AIO cooler. These temperatures seem quite high for my setup. What advice would you all give? The results are definitely not ideal, and the max temps came from a stress test on Prime95.

You are a bit ambitious with your clock speed for prime 95. Prime 95 uses avx and runs really hot so for prime 95 i wouldnt expect 5ghz. I would say the cooler is fine, just not enough to get to 5.0ghz. I would set the speeds a little lower and make sure temps are under 80c while gaming.

Thank you for the response. I've noticed many users with an H100 achieving 5GHz speeds while maintaining good temperatures. However, it seems I should not be hitting 90/95 degrees even with 4.3GHz RAM in the mid-80s.

Repasting cpu cant hurt, it might be worth a try. Make sure pump and fans are set to max.
