I checked a few benchmarks and found this one. Disabling HT gives a small boost in performance—just a bit, but it helps. Most folks aren’t testing with an i7, which seems to be the confusion here. Would appreciate some input from i7 users to confirm.

For personal reasons, I didn’t bother restarting into BIOS to fix it again.

Never before anyone claimed you require an i7 for gaming. In fact, most people argue an i5 suffices. Techspot’s tests reveal almost no distinction between the i7 and i5 values that matter.

Not worth the slight difference in frames per second. I’m sticking with mine. Probably i7 users see two screens at once.

Understood. That makes sense.

Haha, that difference seems almost negligible... Who would turn off HT just to hit under 5 FPS in a single game? Plus, doing it for streaming or recording would actually affect your performance.

Based on what I've noticed, complaints tend to come from i5 processors. HT seems to help a bit with 4-core i7 models, though it likely boosts performance noticeably. Some YouTube videos show i7s achieving higher FPS with HT enabled at higher settings, but that's usually not the case in everyday use. I see most of my gameplay around 60 FPS, often dropping to about 50 or less, sometimes even lower. What's clear is that i5s rarely hit 60 FPS consistently, especially in city environments. I'm getting full performance and experiencing stuttering. Frame rates are inconsistent, usually between 14 and 25 ms, sometimes spiking up to around 35 ms. This game is quite demanding on the CPU.
