Are you looking for improved RAM to boost performance, since your current setup isn’t reaching your full potential and you’re experiencing significant FPS drops?

What configurations work best? RAM seems adequate, but you might be missing around 5% of peak performance. Just remember your system is still on a lower-end machine.

Please include temperatures from benchmarks such as Cinebench and FurMark. Mention the CPU cooler and power supply details so others can assist.

I have two consoles, one with 2600 and another with 2400. My game settings are always in the middle, but I’m not seeing good FPS. I don’t know why.

The RAM speed depends on synchronization; mismatched timings and speeds can cause instability. It’s better to use a different stick of 2600 RAM with matching specifications rather than the 2400 model.

Upgrading to the 3400 2x8 will likely improve performance, especially during those demanding games. Your friend was right about RAM—checking it can help ensure smooth operation. The issue with low FPS might be related to GPU or CPU bottlenecks, so testing both components is a good next step.

You're running an DDR4 upgrade to a 2x8 3200 MHz setup, which is standard and well-supported. Your 8700 processor is indeed using the DRR4 socket.
