Hello, the maximum overclocking distance for an I7 9700K with Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 is not specified here. You may need to check specific benchmarks or manufacturer guidelines for precise details.
Each processor has its boundaries, and overclocking can be a bit of a guesswork process. The I7 9700k can be adjusted quite a bit, but it’s not really worth it for an already high-end chip. Still, if you decide to try, proceed with caution! Make sure the voltage stays below 1.45 volts; this depends on your motherboard and power supply. Higher voltages generate more heat. I recommend starting at around 4 GHz, using a voltage between 1.3 and 1.4, and gradually increasing it in small steps. Run a stress test with Prime95 for an hour or two to check the temperature—ideal readings should be between 60°C to 70°C under load and 30°C to 50°C when idle. If you see a blue screen, don’t panic; it just means you need to lower the CPU core voltage. You might be able to push up to 4.5 GHz, but it’s not guaranteed. Adjust the clock speed in increments, keeping the same voltage, and if it works at 4 GHz, try boosting it slightly to 4.1 GHz with the previous voltage, then increase further until you notice instability (blue screen). Always perform a stress test after each change and monitor the temperature closely. This process can be frustrating, but it helps ensure your PC runs smoothly.
Hope this clarifies things for you

Hi
Wurtti,
We don't know yet what the system can achieve, but we're sure the stock boost frequency is possible.
The procedure is to reset the BIOS and enable all components automatically (CPU and RAM), then perform a stress test and record your CPU voltage and frequency. Manually enter these values in the BIOS without worrying about cache or RAM at this stage.
You'll have two options:
1°/ Improved performance:
Increase the multiplier until it becomes unstable, then adjust the voltage (increments of 0.025-0.05V). Once you reach the desired frequency, lower the voltage as much as possible while keeping stability.
2°/ Better thermal management:
Maintain the stock frequency and reduce the voltage as much as you can until stability is lost.
Edit: For daily use, keep voltages below 1.38V and temperatures under 85°C during testing.
Rodolphe.
