I still manually adjust my 8700k (4.8 @ 1.2v) and everything works fine, but monitoring tools indicate voltage spikes to 1.45 when idle and up to 1.49 during heavy gaming. I need advice on how to stop this from happening. Thanks!

Hi pelster900,
What is your voltage setting? Adaptive?
What's your LLC setting?
Rodolphe.

My voltage is currently configured manually at 1.2 V. Previously, I had an LLC setting and can attempt to adjust it to 5 in the Asus BIOS.

I previously used LLC and checked, but I can try setting it to 5 in the Asus Bios.

I believe we can reduce the LLC. The LLC attempts to counteract voltage drop when under load. If no drop occurs, it compensates too much, causing overshoot. Rodolphe.

rodolphe.viard suggests adjusting the LLC settings. The LLC attempts to offset voltage drop under load, but if no drop occurs it compensates too much, causing overshoot. It also notes unusual behavior during idle and spikes when CPU usage is high, even with minimal load. He mentions considering disabling Turbo in the BIOS due to possible overvoltage concerns, despite using a manual 1.2V core voltage.
