I7 8700k Overclock reasurance
Hi, I just purchased this CPU and am new to overclocking. I have some experience with voltage settings but not much knowledge about the specific ranges for this model. Currently, I'm using 4.8 GHz at 1.24V on a Kraken X62 with Intel Burn Test, which reached around 75 degrees. Is this voltage too high? Should I try to lower it or keep it as is?
Tenningafroggs, tenningafroggs is fine with 14 nanometer processors up to 1.4 Vcore, which means you're comfortably within the limits. The highest recommended core voltage over the past twelve years for microarchitectures ranging from 14 to 65 nanometers is as follows: The standard operating temperature range for the core is: Temperatures above 85°C are not advised Temperatures below 80°C are preferred Consider reviewing our resource: Intel CPU Temperature Guide - CT
