Hey everyone, I’ve got a curious case. A friend of mine had an i7 8700k with a copper custom IHS, and he tested both units. One came out as a lottery winner, hitting 5.3ghz, while the other wasn’t as strong but ran cooler. We’re talking about 25c idle and a max temp of 68°C. When I installed it on the same setup—maximum x hero and Kraken X62—I got an idle around 30°C and under stress at 5ghz with Cinebench 5GHz 1.34. The mid-80s with core 0 and core 4 running at 91°C. I’m a bit concerned about the differences in results and want some advice, maybe I overlooked something? Thanks for all the help!

Are your motherboards and internal components identical, just like Siamese twins? What are your current room temperatures?
