Overclocked to 4.8 with an i7 8700 and 3000mhz RAM, idle temps were around 30-33°C, then rose to 42-43°C after installing a 970 evo pro 512gb SSD as the boot drive. The onboard display shows these temperatures, though it seems the older BIOS is causing inaccurate readings. Someone mentioned an update fixed the issue with the onboard temperature sensors reporting wrong values.

The I7-8700(non K) model should not be overclocked. If a BIOS update resolves your issue, proceed with the update. Follow the guidelines carefully and remain patient; avoid interrupting the procedure.

Do you have an unlocked i7 8700? It seems this one is already overclocked. I got it from a kid who built it using CyberPower PC.
