this situation seems confusing and unclear. it doesn’t appear there’s solid proof or data supporting the claims. the discussion seems more about vague opinions than concrete evidence. the focus should be on actual performance metrics rather than subjective remarks.

@Mister Woof Alright cheers bud. I didn't watch the youtube video as of yet as I am quite busy planning builds/upgrades. I plan on getting the 3070 and calling it at that leaving it for least 3 years I assume for 2 years it shouldn't have issues running the 144fps I need. Then I think nvidia's new cards will come out during the 3rd year in which il sell my build and purchase a new. Once again thanks.

If you haven’t purchased it yet, I’d choose the K model unless there’s a significant cost difference. The K offers a better starting point with a higher base performance and faster boost clock speeds, which are important for gaming on Intel chips.

They operate identically in terms of stock price frequency—only obtain the K if you intend to OC, which is recommended.

I also own an i7 8700 and upgraded my monitor to 1440p144Hz. I’m hoping the RTX3080 will be here soon. I’ve done some research, and the 8700 still performs well. It offers six cores and twelve threads, which isn’t much for many games that use eight or more cores. The clock speeds are decent too, though not exceptional. Overall, it seems like a solid CPU for gaming. The main issue will be what games you play. I might get slightly CPU-bound in Cyberpunk 2077, but that’s manageable. Total War: Warhammer is quite demanding on the GPU, so expect a CPU bottleneck there. Third-person shooters usually rely more on graphics cards, which isn’t my preference. For a 3070, I’d stick with that CPU. Just make sure your DDR XMP profile is enabled in the BIOS to unlock its full potential if you have over 2400 MHz RAM.
