As mentioned in the title, my OC configurations don't remain after a reboot. The OC is set to 4 GHz, but after restarting into Windows (version 18362.592), it appears limited to 3.8 GHz. I’m unsure what’s behind this issue since the computer doesn’t crash and the BIOS restores it to default settings. Also important: using Intel's XTU Tool from the Desktop allows me to reach 4 GHz without problems.

CPU: i7 6800K at 1.2v Core Voltage
MB: MSI X99A SLI PLUS (MS-7885) BIOS v 1.E0
Please let me know if you can assist.

For a long time with that motherboard, I think the cell battery should be changed. Your configurations won't hold if it fails; it will return to the standard setting each time you turn it off or on.

The issue isn't the battery, as it's functioning properly. The BIOS settings are displayed correctly after reboots or BIOS entries, and memory readings from CPU-Z are accurate. During a full BIOS reset (like after a crash), only the CPU is affected, not the OC. It’s possible Intel’s XTU is causing this interference. I also considered a Windows-related fix, but it hasn’t been resolved yet.

I thought it was the BIOS. The previous BIOS caused an issue with the Windows patch I was talking about. MSI issued a BIOS update that resolved the problem.
