i7-6700k Overclock -- Secure Voltage Settings
I managed to OC my new i7-6700k to 4.6ghz on my ASUS Z170-A. Its running stable at 1.344v and 65 max temp.
Will this be safe to run for a while or will it decrease the longevity of the processor?
I've read online people don't like going over 1.35, some don't like going over 1.3. This is why i'm curious if this is safe or not. This is a brand new PC I got and it is my first time overclocking!
Let me know what you think please!
I am conducting a Prime95 Torture test and during this process, when I access CPUID to verify core voltage, it displays 1.360v at both 4.4 and 4.6ghz. This behavior only occurs while running Prime95 and not AIDA64. Why is this happening with different speeds?
The test results show core voltage readings of 1.360v at both 4.4 and 4.6ghz, but only when Prime95 is running. This behavior occurs only with Prime95, not with AIDA64. The issue likely stems from how modern CPUs handle voltage settings, as they don't maintain a fixed value but instead use a table to estimate it based on the input voltage.
