I have an intel i7 6700 with an asus z270-a prime, 500w psu, gtx 1060. I'm curious if there are any settings or configurations in the BIOS that I can adjust to achieve better performance for my CPU, even though it's not unlocked for overclocking.

Read these instructions, then apply what you learn. Remember, you can bypass the non-K CPU by adjusting the BCLK, such as from 100MHz to higher values like 101, 102, etc.

I wouldn't attempt this. Raising the base clock might disrupt devices like SATA, USB ports, and graphics cards. It could cause lasting harm by overclocking the whole system.
