i7 6700 (non-k) Overclocking
It's possible to overclock the base clock even on a non-K model, but it depends on the specific components and your goals. It might be worth considering if you're looking for better performance.
The CPU cannot be overclocked, so upgrading the motherboard isn't really worthwhile. Unless you require additional motherboard features such as extra fan headers or more connectivity ports. There are some options for BLK overclocking on locked CPUs, but these are no longer available. Consider investing in a graphics card if you want gaming, and opt for a better RAM setup—ideally 16GB, possibly adding another 2x4GB if needed. If you're planning to play games, aim for a power consumption of 550-650W to allow future upgrades.

I know the motherboard is a bit excessive, but I managed to get it for a low price. I've looked around and it seems you probably can't do BLK overclocking, but maybe you could just lower the BIOS settings? Or is that too hard and not worth trying?
Blk OC worked on first motherboards. But since they removed that and you won't find anything to activate it anymore.
I don't see any reason, even at a good price... 16gb Ram or SSD is much more worth it
