The iGPU in the i7-5775C would perform differently than the Vega 7 in the R5 5600G, offering higher performance for demanding tasks. The 5775C would not be compatible with Windows XP.

As long as you created a driver, it would be simpler to ensure compatibility with a more recent Windows version rather than trying to adapt to an older one.

It seems the device didn’t perform well. The 5775C came out after Windows XP stopped receiving updates. While it worked fine in 2015, it didn’t significantly outperform top AMD graphics cards at that time.

This project aims to address performance limitations by offering a more powerful alternative. It focuses on improving GPU performance significantly compared to previous models, making it much faster in terms of graphics processing. The goal is to deliver better speed and efficiency without relying on outdated or unsupported hardware.

The goal of the project seems to be evaluating performance options, possibly comparing XP with modern alternatives. It highlights limitations such as low RAM support, older hardware compatibility, and the challenges of running XP on current systems. The discussion also touches on the availability of drivers and the overall feasibility of using XP in today’s environment.

It was essentially a lighthearted idea. A small mix of Linux HTPC and XP retro box built around an outdated LGA1150 ITX board. If the 5775C lacks a driver, I made sure to check.
