Hi guys, i have an i7 4790k with asrock h97 fatality board and a seasonic 620W PSU. I currently disable turbo boost, set core multiplier to 44, and vcore voltage at 1.200v, with the rest on auto. Is this okay? I tried lowering it to 1.190 but it crashed during prime95 tests. I read that cache ratio should be adjusted manually, ideally around 3-6x below core clock. If using auto, should I stick to 44x or try a lower base clock like 40? Also, when balance power is enabled in windows, the clock drops to 800MHz during idle but vcore stays at 1.200v—am I missing something?

Try to use offset mode for your OC, that’s why even when your CPU is at 800MHz idle you still have 1,2V. I can’t manage to explain offset mode properly right now, just search for it. 😀
