i7 4790k overclock voltage and temperatures
Hey guys,
I pushed my i7 4790k to 4.8GHz at 1.22V while keeping it cool under 68°C.
Here are some of the overclocks I tried:
4.3GHz / 1.10V
4.4GHz / 1.12V
4.5GHz / 1.15V
4.6GHz / 1.18V [my current one]
4.7GHz / 1.20V
4.8GHz / 1.22V
I’m wondering if these are good results. I’ve read the basics of overclocking, but others with an i7 4790k seem to be using higher voltages. Should I adjust the overvoltage or leave them as is? Also, since I’ve used each one for about two-thirds of the time and run stress tests for at least four hours, they appear stable.
Maintain voltages at minimal levels while ensuring stability. Those outcomes are outstanding. You've secured the "silicon lottery"
