I run an i7-4770k that I've boosted to 4.5 GHz and 3900 MHz cores at 1.25V RAM with 1600MHz clock speed and 1.63V voltage. The cooling solution is an NHD-15 with two fans. After a crash after 10 to 20 minutes, it recovers and stays stable for gaming sessions lasting about 10 to 12 hours. Is this indicating instability? Could this be a warning sign? And yes, I reset the overclock settings once the crash happened, which suggests it wasn't the cause of the stability afterward.
It's definitely shaky, but perhaps only slightly. I needed 1.35V for 4.5GHz stability on my i7 4770k or 1.4V for 4.6GHz. You might also attempt to raise the VIN voltage from the standard 1.8V to 1.9V, then tweak the LLC (Load Line Calibration) to a higher setting before proceeding, and increase the core voltage. If that doesn't work, consider boosting the VCore to around 1.28V–1.3V, assuming your cooler can handle it.
I've continued pushing my 4.5ghz at 1.29V overclock, but no matter what I try, it freezes after about ten minutes. Once it crashes, it seems to recover and keep running afterward.
What kind of issue are you experiencing? Bsod, power-off, or any error codes?
