i7-3930K Sottotema Overclocking Domande
Hello
I recently increased my i7-3930K to 4.4GHz at 1.44V, and the temperatures stayed around 70C to 80C. During the stress test they fluctuated up and down several times. I wanted to know if 1.44V is too high for this frequency. Also, I ran the test for a long time and it remained stable.
My system details are:
i7-3930K
Corsair 16GB DDR3
Asus P9X79 Deluxe
Corsair Hydro H100i Closed Loop Water cooler
1250 Watt PSU
Coolermaster Cosmos II
You can usually handle it well with proper cooling, but I wouldn't exceed 1.4 V for continuous operation... Just experiment a bit and reduce the voltage while maintaining the same clock speed. It should help lower temperatures significantly. I'd appreciate hearing if this approach actually works.
Well 4.4GHz at 1.420v is the setting I have, but I can't go lower and I'm not sure why. On the other hand, I managed to get 4.3GHz at 1.356v, so I'm keeping it that way.
