Hey everyone, I just got a used I7 3770K and Intel Z75 ML45K for $100. The board says it supports overclocking, but I'm worried about the design—no VRM heatsink and only 4 pin CPU power. Is it safe to overclock on this board? I probably just need around 4GHz.

It might be feasible to exchange the old 5-year-old equipment for a new Ryzen system at the same cost.

Is it safe to overclock on this board? I don’t need much, just around 4Ghz. It’s a good deal, but I’d rather not risk it.

This platform switch is probably just a joke... DDR4 memory isn't inexpensive, and I'll need an R5 1600 to beat this I7.

I just started playing with stock. If you're checking at 60hz, it's simple to use a GTX 1060 or even a 1070.

My GTX 1080 runs smoothly at 1440p in many titles.

Gamerscuxs:
Even 4GHz at 3.9Gbps won't bring much improvement, and using it might lead to issues—risk it yourself.
