Hello Everyone,
I’m facing a system problem that I’m not sure how to fix. It began with the well-known "srttrail.txt" issue. When I switched to a second hard drive, the same problem appeared. I ran memory tests using 11 cycles with Memtest86+, and everything looked normal. My drives also passed testing. My CPU is running at stock speed around 45 degrees, and I’ve used GC Gelid Xtreme paste, a Seidon 240m cooler, along with 5 140mm fans. The GPU R9 295X2 and power supply 1600W EVGA Platinum are functioning properly. I’m using a Fractal Design Define R4 case. Could it be that my motherboard and processor have been affected? Thanks.

Intel CPU diagnostic link provided.
Prime95 + Core Temp test used for worst-case CPU temperature assessment. Current max is 105°C, but normal operation should stay below 75°C, making even 90°C in Prime95 manageable.
So...
*The "srttrail.txt" file was mentioned as a frequent problem. I’m unsure what the real cause is. It seems to be a log file, but it hasn’t helped much.
I still don’t understand the second hard drive test. Was this a clean Windows installation? If not, it offers little evidence (like cloning the drive). If yes, then it’s puzzling because CPU failure usually brings more noticeable problems.*

The idle temperature appears elevated, possibly due to thermal paste or cooler problems. The CPU won’t throttle until around 100°C, but for optimal longevity it should stay below 75°C. It likely points to corrupted software. You can use a Linux Live CD to test; try Ubuntu directly from the CD and use Firefox temporarily. If the application runs without crashes, hardware issues are less probable. Alternatively, you might need to reinstall or repair your Windows setup.

The idle temperature is 26°C, and under full load it reaches 50°C. This raises doubts about whether the cooler pump or another part is faulty.

the temperature of your hdd sdd gpu is quite high. you mentioned noticing the cpu at 45 recently, and i wonder if that's your lowest recorded temp when setting up the system.

I took out the top hard drive cage otherwise my graphics card wouldn’t fit. My motherboard doesn’t offer a way to adjust the VCore in BIOS, which is a bit disappointing. It really restricts the ability to overclock. The computer stays very hot when it’s idle. The room feels quite warm. Other parts seem to be cooling down well, except for the CPU. After some investigation, replacing the motherboard would cost more than $300 at places like Newegg and Microcenter, or around $275 if I bought a new AMD FX 9590 and Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5 Revision 1. I could still use my existing Cooler MASTER Seidon cooler. My setup is mainly for our recording studio, but it can handle other tasks too. I’m unsure which option gives the best value. I plan to reopen the case and ensure all fans are running at maximum efficiency.

I replaced the top hard drive cage otherwise my graphics card wouldn’t fit. My motherboard doesn’t offer an option to adjust the VCore in BIOS, which is a bit disappointing. It really restricts the potential for overclocking. The computer just stays hot when it’s idle. The room feels quite warm. The other parts seem to be cooling down nicely, unlike the CPU. After some research, replacing the motherboard would cost more—Newegg and Microcenter no longer stock Z77 boards, and Ebay listings with no guarantee or warranty would likely run me around $300. Alternatively, I could buy a brand new AMD FX 9590 and a new Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5 Revision 1 for about $275. I’d still use my Cooler MASTER Seidon cooler. My PC is mainly used for our recording studio, though its specs allow it to handle the rest. I’m not sure what the best cost-effective and value option would be. I think I’ll open the case again and make sure all fans are running at full capacity.

Could this be an early sign of wear or damage? It's important to consider whether the discoloration is isolated or widespread.

I replaced the top hard drive cage otherwise my graphics card wouldn't fit. My current motherboard doesn’t offer an option to adjust the VCore in Bios, which is quite disappointing. It really restricts the potential for overclocking. The computer just runs idle at a high temperature. The room feels quite warm. The other parts seem to be operating coolly, unlike the CPU. After some research, it would cost me more to replace the motherboard—Newegg and Microcenter no longer stock Z77 boards, and Ebay listings with no guarantee or warranty would likely run me around $300. Alternatively, I could purchase a brand new AMD FX 9590 and a new Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5 Revision 1 for about $275. I’d still use my Cooler MASTER Seidon cooler. My computer is mainly used for our recording studio, though its specs allow it to run alongside the rest of them. I’m unsure which option offers the best value and performance. I think I’ll reopen the case and ensure all fans are running at full capacity.
