i increased my i7-3770 non k cpu to 4.2 and ran a full load benchmark, reaching a maximum temperature of 87 degrees celsius. i used a stock cooler and didn't change the voltage, only adjusted the multiplier. is it safe to lower the temperature now?

I increased the overclock of my i7-3770 non-K CPU to 4.2 and ran a full load benchmark, which reached a maximum temperature of 87 degrees Celsius. I used a standard cooler and didn’t change the voltage, only adjusted the multiplier. Should I lower the temperature or is it safe as is? The site below lists the maximum temperatures Intel has set for this processor. If you’re planning to overclock, consider using a better cooler like the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO. It’s around $20-30 and offers significantly improved cooling. Also, watch out for base clock overclocking, as it might cause other components to overheat without sufficient cooling.

Users shared their experiences about overclocking an i7-3770 non-K CPU. They reported reaching a maximum temperature of 87 degrees Celsius during a full load benchmark. The advice given was to lower the temperature, as the site lists Intel's maximum operating temperatures. It was recommended to consider a better cooler, such as the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO, and warned about the risks of base clock overclocking which could affect other components.
