I possess a fresh installation with the i7 10700k and am attempting a consistent all-core boost at 5.1 or 5.2. I’m not very experienced with overclocking, but I managed stable boosts on my previous i7 7700k and i5 4690k models, which were more moderate. This time I aim to really push the processor this cycle. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z490 UD AC (rev. 1.0) with ring settings 51 and 48. I disabled AVX and fixed the Vcore to 1.316. Initially, normal to low LLC settings kept temperatures under 85°C, but crashes occurred after a few hours. Cinebench R20 would spike into the low 90s before fans increased and dropped it back to low 80 for most of the run. I played games for several hours without temperature spikes, only experiencing random reboots or hard locks requiring a switch reversal. Today I’m reverting to default because work demands are high and I can’t afford instability. The only changes so far are that my RAM now has an XMP profile enabled. I’m still monitoring the GPU slightly, though. 90/666 Edit: BIOS updated to the latest version I found. Updated December 3, 2020 by Majorllama

p95 blend involves various checks; the early ones aren't the most intense. As long as it doesn't crash in other areas, you're okay. If it does crash in games, first check for ring or RAM issues before looking at the CPU. The specs mentioned are around 1.32v and 5.1, which is quite high. It seems you're likely using a chip in the top 20% range.

I’d like it to operate smoothly at p95 overnight without any issues. Plus, I want the ability to use my computer continuously throughout the day without worrying about crashes.

They’re using a 95 prime number and trying to tweak the voltage a bit higher. They also want a more aggressive LLC setup.

Gaming affects the CPU and RAM in a different way than a simple stress test. Based on the audio cues, your 5.1 GHz all-core processor isn’t performing at full efficiency. I’d consider raising the voltage to around 1.32V or slightly higher, then retest. You can keep using Prime95, but it’s better to run other assessments like Prime95 / Cinebench R20 or R23. Pair a few games with repeated 3DMark Time Spy or Fire Strike tests. If you see the core voltage dropping noticeably from the set 1.316V, increase your CPU’s LLC setting by one or two levels and try again. The i7-10700K consumes a lot of power; a lower LLC might not suffice. It’s worth noting that the High LLC configuration for my i7-8086K at 5.1GHz with a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master works, but keep an eye on VRM temps—those boards can get very hot, often exceeding 100°C+, especially with the i9-10900K. The Gigabyte Z490 UD had issues with both the i7-10700K and i9-10900K according to TeshSpot.

Absolutely important. For a consistent CPU performance, you should have the GPU enabled by default. Otherwise, you won't be able to determine what's causing crashes. Only when you're certain the CPU is stable should you switch to an OC with the GPU.

I prefer realbench because it evaluates multiple parts simultaneously, offering a better simulation of actual conditions.

It seems the main problem is with the board's overclocking capabilities. I’ll settle for a modest 5ghz right now. A lot of things I’ve discovered about this setup. For my next PC, I’ll prioritize a better power supply and motherboard.

Well... you can raise Core Voltage slightly to achieve stable 5.1 GHz, and the VRMs remain within acceptable temperatures with your current configuration. It might be worth giving it a shot. For reference, here are motherboard VRM tier lists and relevant info: Intel Z490 Boards, 300-series boards, AM4 sockets, and additional technical guides.
