Previously, I could maintain around 260 fps in Valorant. After a short processor overclock, frame rates dropped to 160-210. I checked the hardware and found the CPU was under heavy load (80-100% usage) during intense gameplay, while the GPU stayed below 42%. It seems the overclocking likely damaged the processor, causing instability and lower FPS. There might be another factor affecting performance, but the overclock appears to be the main issue.

What are your CPU boost frequencies and temperatures? Which applications are using the most processing power? Are these the game-related processes? Advanced: Are all your cores visible in the task manager? Have you adjusted your in-game settings? Is Turbo Boost active in the BIOS? Has antivirus usage increased compared to previous sessions? Did you remove game processes from your antivirus list? Have you replaced the CPU and reapplied thermal paste? If I assume your CPU isn't reaching its full potential due to thermal constraints, but your report lacks early troubleshooting steps, you've already identified some starting points.

CPU temperatures peak at 60 degrees. I’m not sure about the boost clocks—Val seems to use around 50-70% of my CPU according to Task Manager. Except for Discord, which uses about 5%, I don’t notice any other apps running heavily in the background. All cores (0 to 5) are visible in the hardware info. The only changes I made in BIOS were enabling my XMP RAM profile. I haven’t re-applied thermal paste or replaced the CPU. My game settings remain at the lowest level, and I haven’t blocked the game process from my antivirus.
