i5 8600k overclock
Hi just checked my 8600k to 4.97ghz and hwinfo shows vcore around 1.47-0.15. Is this typical or does it significantly shorten the CPU lifespan? I read that normal voltage is about 1.4. Temperatures are fine at 79°C during heavy gaming and 40°C at idle. I'm using an ASUS Z370-P, and I used EZ overclock, so maybe it wouldn't draw too much voltage if it were risky?
Vcore value is excessively high.
Should be learned to adjust manually using BIOS.

Do you prefer Vcore or VID? I usually suggest manual OC in the UEFI since OC profiles often increase voltage unnecessarily for these CPUs.

It was vcore, and after manual adjustment it’s running at 5ghz with 1.36v—still stable. I’m surprised I could maintain performance at such low voltage; I might try pushing it higher, but it wouldn’t be necessary.
