I revisited this subject since a new update was released, so I switched to a higher-quality thermal paste to achieve better temperatures. Now I reach 70°C under full load, and when the game isn<|pad|>, it starts throttling due to power limits after opening a game. I changed the settings but haven’t found a solution—my plan is Ultimate Performance, and I’m unsure what to do next. Also, my fan suddenly became very quiet after the paste change.
Really? That doesn’t sound right. I thought it was just a normal limitation, but it’s actually reducing performance by half. You mentioned paying for these specs, yet it feels like the system is cutting power without warning. That’s not what I expected.
as mentioned, i switched the thermal paste—it can reach 50w without power limits and it's still on a balanced setting, maintaining 77c. the issue is that i can't run games at full boost because it restricts power. I’m not overheating.
Because the maker chose 25W as the only option over time, no matter the temperatures.
There is the difference between PL1 & PL2. This laptop actively sets PL1 to 25 W when the GPU is stressed, to control the thermal and electrical load. Nobody said you're overheating. As others have mentioned, this isn't anything out of the ordinary for certain laptops. If this isn't acceptable, return or sell the laptop, and buy one that suits your needs.
