i5 7600k Temperature Question?

I've been able to reach 4.8GHz at 1.2v without any problems. The temperatures have hit a peak of 63c. I've looked online and found that around 70c is a common target, so I'm hoping it's a safe target for me. Is 70c the right goal?

I wouldn't suggest raising the temperature to +80 degrees for continuous operation. A range of 70 to 75 degrees works well for 24/7 use. You're definitely capable of running at 90 degrees as well, though the CPU is designed to manage that. However, I wouldn't advise it at all.

I handled 5GHz at 1.29v for a while, but after 15 minutes prime95 caused the temperatures to rise to about 77°C. I lowered it back to 4.9 with 1.26v and it's functioning well, staying under 71°C so far.

So 4,9 works well for you. Not every 6600k model can reach 4,9, but it's still a decent CPU.
