i5 7600k can't passe 4.6Ghz
So what I did was try a newer version of Prime 95 and ended up with the 26.6 one. I experienced significantly improved temperatures now. I achieved 4.6Ghz - 1.25V - LLC on standard, reaching about 71°C max in Prime95 (around 65). On high/ultra settings, it hit 78°C max (about 72). The 4.8Ghz - 1.29V - LLC version on Ultra gave 87°C max in Prime95, but it failed the Intel Burn Test and gets extremely hot—something to be cautious about? The 4.9Ghz version didn’t work at all, getting too hot and causing blue screens. All these were manual overclocks with normal settings, default power saving modes, and XMP disabled. These only worked because I used the older Prime95 versions, which were labeled as passing tests. Even though they’re older, are they still stable enough? Because in the Intel Burn Test, they often don’t succeed at all.
