It's frustrating when thermal throttling forces the system to slow down to around 800MHz, then it can't handle anything beyond that.

Less than that, 800mhz with the CPU off 75% of the time because of clock modulation is more realistic. So around 200MHz or less.

I plan to purchase thermal paste soon or next and possibly another case fan since I only have one. Meanwhile, why does my system show 60-80% usage even when I have around 7GB of RAM, and it just says I have 1 or 2GB available?

Task manager doesn't show all memory users, and with integrated graphics turned on it can use a significant amount of memory.

Yes, connecting a DVI to DisplayPort on your monitor and linking it to the GPU can disable the integrated graphics, freeing up system memory.

Ya, I did that and got 1GB back. I also clean install Windows and memory usage is now 15% on idle and CPU is 5-10% on idle.
