I used to increase the clock speed of a first generation i7 CPU, but I'm not very familiar with this automated overclocking process. I came across an 'CPU UPGRADE' option in my BIOS, is it safe to use? Here are some links for reference:

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P, and I believe the voltage remains unchanged.

Any attempts to overclock must include a water cooling solution. Heat is a CPU's most dangerous foe!
