I recently purchased an I5 4690k CPU pair with a Hyper Evo 212 and managed to reach 4.6ghz at 1.24v. During a Prime95 v26.6 test lasting 10 minutes, the maximum temperature reached was 83°C, then it stabilized at 80°C after 5 minutes. Would this be considered stable? If yes, is it running too hot? Would my typical usage temperatures be lower? Should I extend the testing? And finally, did I win the chip lottery? Thank you.

Seems fine, I have the i5 4690k and Hyper 212 EVO currently, It runs at 4.4 GHz and I get 79 degrees and when it use to be 4.5 GHz it was ~80. So 83 degrees is no problem.

It takes only ten minutes, it's far from sufficient.
