So I boosted my i5-4690k to 4.5Ghz @1.26v with adaptive voltage. My motherboard is an MSI Z97 Gd-65. I ran stability tests with OCCT and everything worked well, running at 68c max under full load. Games also ran smoothly. I turn it off at night and back on after about 10 minutes—it shuts down and displays "overclocked failed." Even though it was functioning normally, I went to BIOS. After loading the 4.5ghz OC profile again, everything seemed okay. Could there be a power setting I'm missing? I've already disabled Intel C-state and checked the CPU's over voltage protection, but I'm not sure what else to adjust. Please let me know.

Unusual. Have you attempted increasing the voltage once more? You might have ended up getting a CPU with some poor timing.

When achieving a 100% stable overclock at the minimum voltage, I will increase by 0.02 volts to maintain stability.

It's strange. Have you increased your voltage again? You might have gotten a CPU with some poor timing. Are you wondering if enabling Fast Boot matters, and I'll try adding .02v.

Uncertain about the quick startup, you might want to turn it off to check if anything alters the behavior
