Hi all,
I attempted to overclock my i5 4670k to around 4GHz, hoping for a slight boost. The rig's specifications are listed below. I tried setting the BIOS to the XMP profile, syncing all cores, and adjusting the voltage to 1.100. I was informed that this chip can reach up to 4.2GHz without changing the voltage. After increasing the multiplier to 40 and raising the voltage to 1.100, my system displayed a blue screen.

What went wrong? I restored it to the stock settings now, and everything works properly. Still, I’m uncertain if I exceeded the voltage limit or if I only requested 4GHz. Could this be the reason for the issue?

It seems like you're suggesting adjusting the multiplier to 40 while keeping other factors unchanged and observing the outcome.

It seems the voltage should be lower, as a higher value would be needed for reaching 4GHz.
