It relies on the specific game in question...certain titles run smoothly on that CPU, while others struggle...

It's likely the fourth generation i5 CPUs reach their limits when paired with the GTX 1070 for any resolution you choose. They'll work well compared to the GTX 960, but the GPU won't use its full potential with that processor.
