I carried out a Geekbench test before and after switching to Windows 11 and saw a drop of about 10%. Reading online, newer Intel chips like the 12th generation seem to perform better on Windows 11 thanks to Thread Director. However, I’m feeling drawn back to Windows 10 now. Also, some games feel slower—around 20-30 frames per second less in titles like MW3. Are there any issues I might be overlooking with Windows 11?

In gaming, your results might vary. It could simply be influenced by the Geekbench score.

Certain tasks and standards could be scheduled improperly. When a single threaded job is pushed onto a slow E core rather than a quick P core, your benchmark results will drop. Windows 10 doesn’t recognize P and E cores. If a job unexpectedly lands on a P core then performance will be excellent. Otherwise, an E core might occur and your scores won’t be as high. In practice this is mostly due to randomness. You might want to try tools like Process Lasso to direct jobs to the right cores. Ideally Windows 11 and Thread Director should handle scheduling correctly, but this isn’t guaranteed. Some legacy programs or tests may need updates to use P cores effectively. You’re not overlooking anything—your insight shows you understand these limitations.

Have you performed a new Windows setup? Simply asking for an upgrade from version 10 to 11 leads to problems.

What percentage is that? You may have just installed it fresh, which could have reactivated security settings that were off before.

You mentioned using the update option for W10 to 11, but you cleaned up your previous GPU drivers. You asked about the percentage impact, referring to performance changes after a Windows 10 upgrade without a fresh install. The update reduced frame rates by roughly 20-30%. After reinstalling the GPU drivers with AMD Cleanup, especially in MW3, the performance dropped further.

Verify whether Windows core isolation memory integrity or other VBS features were activated following the installation of Windows 11. https://beebom.com/how-disable-virtualiz...indows-11/

It was switched off, but I tried turning it back on with W10—it kept staying off during the upgrade.

Activated gaming settings on the motherboard that turns off color options, boosted power for all cores, and a fresh Windows 11 install lifted single-core speed by 5%. It's unclear which change mattered most, but overall it's working much better than before, even surpassing Windows 10.

20-30 frames per second if you hit 250 = average 20-30 fps if you reach 60 = not worth it, 'n not worth it
