Question is my mobo has 4 m.2 slots. I have the 980 pro in slot one at gen4 speeds. is there any advantage to running optaine anymore as a cache? Or are the NVME drives just that fast? Thanks

Nvme storage speeds are high enough that adding an optane layer isn't practical for regular use, and it wouldn't improve performance much. Optane would be useful only if you needed to store an entire hard drive, which other software solutions can handle instead.
