Compare the two processors carefully. The Ryzen 3 3300X is about $20 more, but it offers solid performance for everyday tasks. The i5-10400F is a strong contender, especially if you need more power for multitasking or light gaming. For longer use—3 to 5 years—consider the Ryzen 5 5600X or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, which often deliver better value and sustained performance. Both options are reliable, but the Ryzen 7 tends to outperform in sustained workloads.

Confirmed, check for additional CPUs within the same budget of $150.

The 10400f is the superior choice. For those near a microcenter, consider a 9700k. It may cost a bit more, but you'll spend less on the older motherboard.

I reside in Malaysia, where there are no microcenters. I hope they appear soon.

It's not a small increase; I just verified it's more than double the cost.

It’s not a good deal. You can find a CPU and motherboard package in the U.S. for roughly $50 more than an i5.

The Intel CPU offers marginally improved performance, but the main concern is your intended use and component compatibility. An Intel setup typically means you’re looking at a system nearing the end of its life, with the 10000 series being the fastest available now—though performance gains are expected to be modest. Additionally, Intel systems generally restrict you to PCI-E 3.0 interfaces. In contrast, an AMD configuration may run slightly slower, but it comes with a superior cooler and modern platforms already support PCI-E 4.0. If that feature matters, AMD could still be a worthwhile option.

It's funny how things seem to change so quickly. I get where you're going with this. Cheers!
