It performs well for everyday tasks but falls short of the power of an i7-10th Gen.

The i7 10700 offers significant improvements over the 10400f, featuring additional cores and faster clock speeds. However, if you don’t pair it with a processor above 2060/2070, you should be okay and avoid performance issues.

For casual gaming without ultra-high refresh rates, it behaves similarly to other Intel CPUs, including an i9-10900k paired with a mid-range GPU like 6800/3070/3080.

You're playing at 1080p with a frame rate of 120/144hz. That should be fine for most games like Geometry Dash, Starbound, Terraria, Roblox, and Minecraft. (Updated Feb 18, 2021 by bungusboy81)

You're not limited by a high-end CPU for these games. Roblox, Minecraft, and Terraria typically run smoothly on an i3-10100 or similar mid-range processor.

What are you using the PC for? If it's mainly for gaming, the 10400f is a solid pick for its price, but if you're running more demanding applications, think about other alternatives. While it works fine, it's just a bit slower. Unless you're earning from other projects, I wouldn't waste time on it.
