i3 6100 H110M XMP
Hello there, I'm planning to buy 3000Mhz DDR4 memory and a H110M board for my i3 6100. I'm curious if turning on XMP in the BIOS will not only boost the memory speed but also raise the base clock overclock. I understand that Z170 boards are limited to BCLK overclocking for non-K CPUs, but will the processor's base clock change on the H110M board when I enable XMP? Can I reduce the base clock if it increases? And what happens if I try BCLK overclocking on other boards?
I'm concerned that, regardless of XMP support, your RAM will operate at 2133mhz and your i3 will function at its default speed.
The ability to overclock via BCLK on non-board devices isn't available.
Please note that some online videos suggest otherwise, but I haven't observed it in real life.
