Hi, your recent thermal paste change and subsequent Cinebench results show the CPU temperature hitting a peak of 81°C with an average of 77°C under full load. It seems the issue might be related to your older heatsink and fan. You mentioned running the test weeks ago and it was around 77°C, which is within normal range. Since you've checked the fan alignment and confirmed it's secure, replacing the heatsink isn't necessary unless the temperature consistently exceeds safe limits. Consider monitoring long-term trends and ensure proper airflow for optimal performance.

Considering it's a cinebench run and the tin under that is probably not the best anymore. No not really.

Looking at the picture, is it sufficient for an aftermarket cooler? The link provided shows a stock cooler image.

Sandy Bridge has fused IHS... It looks like the issue lies with the thermal paste between the cooler and the IHS. I own a few Sandy Bridge chips, such as the 2120 and 2100.
