I would use xubuntu as a safety backup for web browsing and office tasks during emergencies, and possibly for streaming games at home via Steam.

I’d likely set up Ubuntu. I’m aiming to get it up and running on an HP thin client with 2GB of RAM and an Intel Atom chip. It’s a passive cooling unit and wasn’t built for a full OS, but I’m willing to try it out.
