The Dell G15 5520 is available at my local microcenter for $999.99, but I almost missed it with my income taxes. However, I noticed its "gaming" keyboard might not be 1000hz and the mousepad probably isn't either. Anyone know where to find those details? I’m worried they might not have the answer if I contact customer support today. I recently bought a $250 analog Razer gaming keyboard and think lowering it to 125hz could cause issues.

Who cares? Try using an external keyboard if you want. No laptop will come with the specs you need.

I'm planning to pull out my laptop if it ends up with a low-cost keyboard. I'm sure even the top brands like Alienware won't give you a 125hz keyboard with a GPU inside. That doesn't make sense. Once you're in the external keyboard section, you might as well go for a desktop.

I’m not very confident about that. I’ve never seen any keyboard specs for laptops before. It would be better to use an external keyboard and monitor that fit your needs.

That would completely undermine the purpose of the laptop. You're looking for something small, right? For example, alienwares' polling rates on their laptops reach 1 millisecond, which equates to around 1000 Hz—similar to a standard gaming keyboard.

Alternatively, consider sticking with Alienware. From Dell and Hewlett-Packard, I doubt you'll find the specifications you need on the keyboard. Also, gaming laptops aren't very good. They don't match the performance of desktops, and heat is a constant problem.

I noticed it labeled as "standard," but I think the actual size is smaller. I'm guessing it doesn't cause any issues and it's only 125hz, which seems pretty low.

Sure, just make sure to use an external keyboard that fits your requirements and you'll be fine. Everyone does it, but the only time you can't use one is when you're on the go.
